WHAT IS BIAB ?

At ReTHINKNAIL, we care about your well-being and your need to have lovely nails. Therefore, we primarily promote gel nail application method which is widely known as BIAB.

BIAB is a professional-only, soak-off soft gel that is designed to be applied directly as an overlay on the natural nail. The formula is thicker than regular gel polish, but it’s still applied like gel polish and well-known for being self-leveling.

Minimal Damage to the Natural Nail

Gel nails offer a gentler alternative to traditional nail applications. They adhere well to the natural nail without causing significant damage, preserving the health of one nail plate or more.

The application method is uniquely gentle on nails and is free of smell.

The removal process is less aggressive, reducing the risk of weakening or thinning the nails.

This makes gel nails a suitable option for those looking to maintain nail health while still enjoying the benefits of enhanced nails.

Natural Look

BIAB offers a natural appearance. It gives the nails a clean, healthy look, with a slight thickness that still feels lightweight.

Durability

BIAB has a thicker consistency, which provides enhanced support to the nails. This strength makes them ideal for those who have weak or brittle nails and require extra reinforcement.

Resistant to Yellowing

Gel nails have better resistance to UV degradation, meaning it’s less likely to yellow over time when exposed to sunlight, compared to some other nail products, like acrylics or certain gel polishes.

Is Hard Gel Same As BIAB ?

The answer is yes and no. Both are gel nails. Hard gel is more rigid and high-viscosity gel used primarily for building extensions or adding strength to natural nails.

Durability

Hard gel offers much more strength and durability than BIAB nails. Such strength makes them ideal for those who is looking for long-lasting extension nails with high level of nail arts.

Due to such strength, the removal process can be relatively intensive as it requires E-filing. This process ca create dust hazard or damge natural nail plates if not performed by experienced nail technicians.

No Lifting

  • Stronger adhesion: Hard gel has superior adhesion to the natural nail compared to other systems, which reduces the risk of lifting (when the nail enhancement starts to peel away from the natural nail).

  • Less Maintenance: Due to its strong bond, hard gel nails generally require fewer touch-ups and are more durable between salon visits.
